Boarder Stargaze 1

Small Magellanic Cloud to Jupiter - Milky Way Centre (Bump!)

This exposure was taken on the tennis court of The Wymah Valley Holiday Park, looking a bearing of 247o, Altitude 70o. (approximately situated 40kms NE of Albury, just on an arm of Lake Hume, new South Wales). Jupiter being the brightest object.

BUMP! Either at the beginning or the end of the exposure, Alex must have bumped the camera tripod creating an artificial, but spectacular meteor shower!

Public Viewing Nights

Just to let everyone know, public viewing nights are held every first Friday of the month. Clear or cloudy nights the public viewing night goes ahead. Members man a number of telescopes of various sizes and types, and for those nights where the sky is cloudy, extended astronomical presentations are presented in the MPAS Viewing Centre.
