Boarder Stargaze 2
Large & Small Magellanic Clouds to
Milky Way Centre

This exposure was taken on the tennis court of The Wymah
Valley Holiday Park, looking a bearing of 122o,
Altitude 56o. (approximately situated 40kms NE of
Albury, just on an arm of Lake Hume, new South Wales). The
Large and Small Magellanic Clouds being to the upper left,
Milky way Centre to Upper Right and next to a tennis court
flood light shadow. NGC2516, a large colourful open cluster,
is very noticeable to the far left lower corner of the sky
(just above the red lit tree)
In this shot, Alex's observing telescope, the white 12”
Sky-Watcher Newtonian, can be seen to the lower right. Alex
viewed many Galaxies, Globular clusters, Nebulae, with a
most impressive and memorable view of M33. The spiral arms
of the galaxy were clearly visible and very distinctive with
beautiful contrast.

Public Viewing
Nights |

Just to let
everyone know, public viewing nights are held
every first Friday of the month. Clear or cloudy
nights the public viewing night goes ahead.
Members man a number of telescopes of various
sizes and types, and for those nights where the
sky is cloudy, extended astronomical presentations
are presented in the MPAS Viewing Centre.
So please come
along and enjoy our nights sky.
