Society monthly meeting recorded on 20231115 at The Briars Mount Martha Observatory.
Meeting introduction was by the President, Dr. Peter Skilton, including highlights from the 2023 Ig Nobel Prizes.
Vice President, Chris Kostokanellis, then presented the AstroMoPho Astronomy Photographic challenge for the month, followed by Committee member, Dr. Guido Tack, with the Sky for the Month and sharing all about his work adventure twice to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory this year.
Next, past-President, David Rolfe, spoke about his visit to the USA, including watching the Psyche mission’s launch and visiting the Atomic Testing Museum.
The main video was then shown on the topic of “The NASA Psyche Mission: An Electric Journey to a Metal World”, presented by Dr. Lindy Elkins-Tanton, Principal Science Investigator for the mission at the University of New Mexico.
